After Ulu Gombak we went on small roads...
...back through Kuala Lumpur, where new architecture mixes...

... and the west meets the east.

We stopped briefly near the Batu Caves to collect...
.. and saw schoolkids going home for the day.
Our next major stop was Cameron Highlands, a high elevation (> 1500 m) area north of Kuala Lumpur.
Cameron Highlands is well known for its tea plantations.
We went up to the top of the mountain Gunung Brinchang (2000 m), which gave beautiful views and good spiders.
