Diagnoses of genera of South East Asia: Wanlessia (?; 3-4). This monotypic genus was erected by Wijesinghe in 1992 for a single male collected in Sarawak. It is a small brown salticid related to Portia (p. 332). No mention was made about its habitat. The cephalothorax is moderately high with the top slightly convex, with the rear of the thorax very steep and the sides vertical. In plan, the sides are parallel from the front to the rear eyes and then taper to a short truncate, rear margin. The abdomen is oval, narrower than, and about as long as, the carapace. The legs are moderately spiny with leg IV much the longest. The carapace is yellowish-brown with irregular black markings, with a lighter area around the fovea. The abdomen is whitish-yellow with irregular black marks at the rear and covered with amber-grey hairs. The legs are dark yellowish-brown with black annulations on the femora and tibiae.
