Diagnoses of genera of South East Asia: Genus: Talavera is a small genus of small, dark brown salticids. Until recently Talavera was a monotypic genus. However, four species of Euophrys, including the two species found in S. China, have now been transferred to Talavera. In appearance Talavera is very similar to Euophrys and the description given above for Euophrys applies equally to Talavera. It is in their genitalia that differences occur. Distribution: Essentially Talavera has a holarctic distribution, but two species, T. aequipes and T. petrensis, are recorded from S. China. Murphy & Murphy 2000: 344.
