Arthropoda Selecta, Moscow 9 (4): 236, 281-282 With Author's and Editor's permission. Comment by J. Proszynski: Logunov 2001: 281-282 is right that the status of this species is to be clarified after examination of the type specimen kept in Museo Civico di Storia Naturale in Genoa. The specimen from the Thorell collection in Stockholm Museum, ilustrated above, is not the type. Prior to that, conclusions on synonymy is premature. However, Logunov states also that after re-examination of the above illustrated specimen he came to the conclusion that Stichius albomaculatus "seems to be a junior synonyme of Bianor incitatus". It is curious how species with so strikingly different palpal organs could be conspecific? And as the above specimen is not the type of the species, how could it be basis for synonymisation of both names? Copyright © for the page by J. Proszynski, 2001.
