Rafalus
sp-3
Proszynski, 1999 - sp. uncertain
Remark. This and other similar specimen has changed during 30-60 years of preservation, colors faded and part of the setae lost; since they were collected as single individuals in distant localities, the importance of differences in the genital organs cannot be evaluated; there is no reason to consider them conspecific either. Legs are similar in all these females, yellow with indistinct darker annulation; tibia I with 3 pairs of ventral spines; femora III and IV have a particularly long, dorsal spine basally. Ventral aspect: sternum dark; coxae light; abdomen light - similar in all 3 females described. The decision on the specific status of these is left until such time that more material be becomes available.
Material: 1 Female Elat, 3. V. 51.
Diagnosis. Orbital setae around AME white; clypeus covered with dense white setae, longer than in R. christophori. Eye field dark; thorax brown with adpressed, whitish setae, denser on lower sides. Abdomen light brown, median streak whitish.
Female
Cephalothorax light brown with a mixture of whitish and dark setae; eye field darker; eyes III surrounded with white setae; orbital setae over eyes I white; thorax covered with thin, adpressed, whitish setae on brown integument, white setae denser on lower sides. Abdomen light brown, covered with a mixture of brown and whitish setae; median serrated streak whitish, consisting of fused chevrons, covering about 1/3rd of the width of the abdomen. Frontal aspect: eye field from this position appears covered uniformly with mixed scales, white much denser, the areas behind AME slightly less white; face, like Rafalus christophori sp. n. but with white setae under eyes I and along clypeus, dense and longer, some overhang the chelicerae; chelicerae yellow with denser, white setae; pedipalps yellow with white setae. Femora I ventrally whitish with hints of 2 greyish spots; patella and tibia I yellow with indistinct, darker annuli. Epigyne and its internal structure is shown on drawings.
