[Title Page] [List of Genera] [Regional Keys to Genera] [Descriptions of New Taxa] [Geographical Distribution] [Color Photographs] [Scanning Microphotographs] [See also Catalogue: Thiania]
Diagnoses of genera of South East Asia: Pselcis (?; 7-8). The
type species P. latefasciata (Simon, 1877) is an immature male. He placed
it near Laufeia (p. 339). The habitus, drawn by Proszynski in 1987, more
closely resembles that of Thiania (p. 317). Distribution: Pselcis
is known only from the Philippines.
General remarks: Most of these genera are known only from south east
Asia. Although there are still no habitat details, genitalia and occasionally
other drawings are now available for many of them. In the original descriptions
and in Simon's salticid classification, mention is sometimes made of close and
more familiar relatives. The latter will be discussed in more detail in due
course. Murphy & Murphy 2000: 272. By
