Genus Phausina Simon, 1902

Diagnoses of genera of South East Asia: Phausina (?; 4-5). Only one species, P. leucopogon Simon, 1905, occurs in our area. The carapace is said to be black with red hairs surrounding a broad band of yellow hairs on the cephalus and reddish hairs surrounding a narrow median stripe of whitish hairs on the thorax. There is a submarginal, wavy stripe of whitish hairs on the sides. The abdomen is oblong and tapers to the rear. It is blackish with a red pubescence, and there is a median band of white and yellow hairs running its entire length. The front two pairs of legs are blackish, the rear two pairs yellowish with some annulations., There are some long spines, ventrally, on the front tibiae and metatarsi.
Distribution: Except for the species from Java, all the other Phausina species come from Sri Lanka. Murphy & Murphy 2000: 286.
