Genus Nannenus Simon, 1902

directory & file name - Nanneus

Diagnoses of genera of South East Asia: Nannenus (4; 3-4). The type species, N. syrphus, and N. lyriger, the only two members of this genus, were described by Simon in 1902. Like many genera which Simon placed in his Hasariae, the cephalothorax is high with the flat cephalus sloping gently, and the thorax sloping steeply, from the rear eyes. The eye region is blackish with the area between the rear eyes lighter and the sides and the thorax brown with a whitish lateral band on each side The abdomen is small, broad oval in plan and light yellowish in colour with a vague white pattern. Male habitus, chelicera, palp and female genitalia were drawn by Proszynski, 1984 and 1987. We have also collected specimens of one or two more species belonging to this genus. Distribution: Nannenus is known only from Singapore and P. Malaysia. Murphy & Murphy 2000: 286. By courtesy of the Authors' and the Malaysian Nature Society.
