Diagnoses of genera
of South East Asia: Microhasarius (3-5; 4-5). This genus consists
only of the type species, M. pauperculus Simon, 1902 from Java and M.
animosus Peckham & Peckham, 1907 from Sarawak. The description by Simon
is brief. The carapace is yellowish-red with a very thin black margin. The cephalus
and each side is black and there are some long whitish-yellow hairs. The abdomen
is almost circular, broad at the front. It is, pale brown with a few dark spots
and there is a short, dark, median stripe anteriorly. Abdomen and female genitalia
drawn by Proszynski, 1987. The authors of M. animosus give a more detailed
description but are not certain that their specimens are congeners.
Distribution: Microhasarius is known only from Java and Sarawak.
