Diagnoses of genera
of South East Asia: Meata (4, ?). This monotypic genus was
recently erected for a single female, M. typica, collected in Vietnam.
Information about its shape is scant. The carapace is oblong, longer than wide
with the sides almost parallel and the rear wide. The abdomen is rotund, broad
oval in plan and truncated anteriorly. General character of the legs is not
mentioned but some spines are present. The carapace is orange-brown with the
eye surrounds dark and covered with numerous white, adpressed hairs. The abdomen
is light grey with vague dark patches on the sides and at the rear. The legs
are yellow-orange in colour.
Distribution: Meata is known only from Vietnam. Murphy
