Diagnoses of genera of South East Asia: Homalattus (?; ?). In
1880 Karsch described H. deplanatus from the Philippines, since when
there has been no further information. In view of the distribution of the other
species in this genus, this identification is doubtful. This point of view is
further supported by the fact that Simon says that Homalattus looks like
Ballus, whereas a recent sketch by Zabka of H.
deplanatus [=Rhene deplanata] does not.
Distribution;' Most species of Homalattus are found in Africa,
but single species are recorded from Madagascar, Mexico and the Philippines.
