and a N American species:
To my knowledge all species characterize by comparable shape, body proportions, size and color pattern. Geographical distribution from India, China, Caucasus, one species in N America. Undescribed species from Nepal and Iran enrich scope of embolus variation. J. Proszynski.
Murphy & Murphy 2000: 344. Diagnoses of genera of South East Asia: Genus: Habrocestoides. Although this genus was only erected in 1992, from some specimens collected in India, several more species, particularly from S. China, have turned up since then. In shape Habrocestoides is very similar to Habrocestum. The carapace is yellow-brown with the eye region black-brown. The abdomen is dark brown with a pattern of white dots and transverse dark lines near the spinnerets. The legs are slender and mostly yellowish-brown in colour, with some blackish-brown marks on leg I. Distribution: The main centre for Habrocestoides appears to be just to the north of our area and stretches from Northern India to Vietnam and Southern China. Murphy & Murphy 2000: 344.
