Modern diagnostic standards require large, not diagramatic drawings
of palpal organ in ventral and lateral position, epigynum (with differentiated
external sculpture and translucent internal parts) and preparation of internal
structure cleared of soft tissues and with membraneous parts displayed by staining
(preferably in Chlorazol Black E). Additionally, to identify genus necessary are
drawings of body (dorsal and lateral views) and colour pattern. Substandart diagnostic
drawings do not permit recognition of species and identification of genera. The
species purported to be illustrated by substandard drawings should be revised
and illustrated again by standard methods.
