Genus Ergane Koch L., 1881

Type species [ E. cognata ]

Diagnoses of genera of South East Asia: Ergane (?; 9). Only one species of this small genus, E. benjarei described by Peckham & Peckham, 1907 from Borneo (sub Afiola), occurs in our area. The conformation of the palp (drawn by Zabka, 1988) and the abdominal pattern suggest that Ergane is close to Chalcotropis (p.347).
Distribution: Ergane is known only from Borneo, Micronesia (Palau) and northern Australia. Murphy & Murphy 2000: 284. By courtesy of the Authors' and the Malaysian Nature Society.
