Note: Drawings resemble
rather Peckham - Dr. GB, Edwards explains what happened (from a private letter
of March 22nd, 2004) "Petrunkevitch (1914) explains what happened in his
introduction. Professor H. W. Foote collected the specimens and sent them to
Peckham. Peckham had identified most as new species, but unfortunately died
before the manuscript could be written. Mrs. Peckham had hired J. H. Emerton
(who made many drawings for the Peckhams) as the illustrator for these species,
so you were correct in noting that they looked like Peckham drawings. After
Peckham's death, Prof. Foote arranged to send the specimens to Petrunkevitch,
who made the actual descriptions."
