[TYPE SPECIES Ch. dimidiata] [Ch. bitaeniata ][prensitans] [rapax = prensitans]
Diagnoses of genera
of South East Asia: Chalcolecta (?; 3). Two species, C.
zosterifera and C. amplectans from Java, both described by Doleschall
in 1859 (sub Salticus), were tentatively placed in this genus by Thorell
in 1882. There is very little information and they appear to be much smaller
than typical Chalcolecta species. Consequently they should be regarded
as doubtful. Chalcolecta is close to Diolenius (p. 267 and not
recorded from our area). Female epigyne, male palp and abdomen of the type
species C. dimidiata are drawn in Proszynski, 1987. Distribution:
Chalcolecta ranges from Sulawesi to Papua New Guinea. Murphy
